Spirit Phone
In 2016, I wrote a very small bit of software called 'Spirit Phone'.

Put simply, this software records and plays back at the same time. The idea being, you can hear EVP in realtime and respond with the hopes of getting a further response.

Obviously, the implications of getting a response and having a conversation through this would be pretty astounding. Quite a few users have expressed interest in this - so here it is.

Spirit Phone - ReadMe

Spirit phone takes your microphone input and plays it back through your speakers
with a very short latency. The idea is that if you were to capture EVP, you would hear it
in real time and would be able to respond accordingly.

You can choose between various recording frequencies to play around with. It's important
to have some kind of headphones plugged in so you don't create a feedback loop between your mic
and speakers.
​
Please also note that on some laptops you can sometimes hear the internal workings/fans of the device. Therefore it is preferable to have a wired microphone you can situate away from the device.
