Miscellaneous work/projects

I have recently began experimenting with UDK. I created this using assets from the example pack.

UDK #1

UDK #2

I love the UDK editor. The fact that you can edit in realtime makes a huge difference. It's really easy to get the look you're aiming for because all the lighting is rendered on the fly.

UDK #3

I've found that UDK is fantastic for compiling proof of concept maps. This map wasn't intended to be playable, I just wanted to see how easy it would be to assemble a corridor using meshes.

'Greeble based generation' - Random Idea

I was going to use Unity and Google Sketchup to create a randomly generated dungeon crawler. I never really got anywhere with this project due to my commitments with my Source projects.

These random scrawlings describe my thoughts of creating corridor pieces that would fit together in any combination. The engine would then generate these procedually. Performance wouldn't be an issue as all the geometry would be pre-cached before gameplay.

Pixel Art

I spent a lot of time during my studies on various works such as these. All completed in MSPaint.

Very old Source maps

This is a video of some very old mapping I did after Half-Life 2 was released (the video was uploaded in 2007 but these maps were created in 2005.)

It is a showcase of various maps I made whilst learning how to use the Source engine.

Old project - "The Nightmare."

This was an old project I sought to pursue but dropped it in favour of the ghosthunt series.
